EXPELLED BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti on Thursday demanded dismissal of the SP-led coalition government here.

Bharti met Governor TV Rajeswar. She said Minister of State for Haj and Minorities Welfare Haji Yaqoob Qureshi’s offer of Rs 51 crore to anyone killing the Danish cartoonist was against the law of the land.

Referring to the High Court judgement on BSP MLAs, she said the Mulayam Singh Government had made a mockery of the judiciary by tabling a trust motion on February 28.

She claimed there was a reign of terror in the State and said she would teach the chief minister a lesson.

Earlier, she participated in a dharna at Patel Square against Qureshi. However, Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath did not participate in the dharna.

Uma’s Janadesh Yatra conavenor Swami Chinmayanand told newspersons that the Yogi could not come because of violence during the panchayat election.

In a memorandum to the Governor, Bharti demanded dismissal of the State Government. She said criminals like Mukhtar Ansari, an MLA, were safe and the State Government had taken no notice of Qureshi’s utterances. She also said land grabbing all over the State had assumed a menacing dimension. Bharti said she was opposed to Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh on policy matters as well. She reiterated her new party would be announced on April 30.
