Umashankar to lead BJP?s fund drive

Gupta, who happened to be a powerful minister because of his proximity with Gaur, failed to find favour from the party and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for a berth in the new ministry. Intra-party squabbles and detractors’ complaints against Gupta were supposed to be the major reason behind his non-induction in Shivraj cabinet.

The fund, known as Aajivan Sahyog Nidhi, is raised once in a year to meet the State BJP’s expenses. The target for the current year is Rs 2 crore, said the sources.

As per the party’s release, districts in-charge leaders of the campaign have also been nominated. They include Ramesh Sharma for Bhopal city and Rajmal Gupta for Bhopal rural.
