Umrao Jaan director back with another historical

Muzzaffar Ali who last made Umrao Jaan in 1981, is now planning to make Noor Jehan Jehangir, a love story of Noor Jehan and Jehangir.

Muzzaffar Ali who last made Umrao Jaan in 1981, is now planning to make Noor Jehan Jehangir, a love story of Noor Jehan and Jehangir.

Says the director about his sabbatical, “I wasn’t away from films,” says Ali. “In the interim I made Anjuman which did not release outside UP and Zooni was never completed. I have also been developing an international film which is in the process of being cast with international actors. I have completed 23 drafts of the story so far.”
