THE UNION Minister of State for Human Resource Development Purandeshwari Devi visited the Pandit Sunderlal Sharma Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE) on Sunday.
Speaking at a function organised on the occasion, the minister expressed concern over the growing unemployment among youth and said that India being a young nation with 28 million young population, a demand driven multi-entry and multi-exit system of vocational education and training should be developed to make the youth employable.
She further said that the system should also make a provision for the vertical mobility of students so that they could pursue higher education.
The joint director of the institute R G Chouksey welcomed the minister and expressed concern on the lack of provision of skill training for 90 per cent youth of the country who fail to seek admission to higher education courses.
He said that there is a need to establish a separate system of vocational education and training so that a large number of vocational courses could be provided to the 32 crore youth seeking employment oriented training. Administrators and academicians from other institutions of Bhopal were also present on the occasion.
UNION MINISTER of State for Human Resource Development Purandeshwari Devi on Sunday dedicated to public the guesthouse at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) re-christened after the institute’s former director Late Yogendra Saran. Former MP minister Ajay Singh presided over the function. NITTTR chairman Dr Mahendra Singh Chouhan welcomed the guests.
