UP: 7 cops suspended after man commits suicide in police custody

Naresh Yadav, who was arrested on charges of helping in the abduction of a girl hanged himself from the roof with his shirt in the police lock up, police officials said.

His family members have been informed, they added.

Meanwhile, seven policemen including station officer Brijesh Kumar, sub-inspectorI Hari Singh and constables Chandra Pal, Vinod Kumar, Vijay Pal, Brijesh Kumar and Usha Rani have been suspended with immediate effect by superintendent of police Atul Saxena in connection with the suicide.
