UP minister's kin shot dead

A UP government minister's kin has been shot dead by unidentified assailants at Kandhla town.

An Uttar Pradesh government minister's kin was shot dead by unidentified assailants at Kandhla town of the district, police said on Saturday.

Dr Prashant Balian, nephew of Minister of State for Agro-education and Research Yograj Singh, was sleeping in his nursing home on the Kandhla-Kairana road when some miscreants broke into the house and opened fired at him, police said.

A search operation has been launched to nab the criminals and police of the adjacent districts have been alerted to prevent them from fleeing, they added.

Meanwhile, in another case, a motorcycle showroom owner was shot dead by some unidentified miscreants at Thnanahawana town of the district.

The deceased Kalim (30) was returning home when some miscreants shot him dead on Friday, they said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is on, police said.
