Former External Affairs Minister Senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh on Saturday alleged that the UPA government's foreign policy has failed miserably, making the country "completely dependent" on the US. "We have now become completely dependent on the United States of America with no independent lines of thinking on our part," Singh, who is also the leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, said, addressing a press conference in Kota. The senior BJP leader also said that the Congress-led UPA government's foreign policy, which has failed miserably, has isolated India globally.

Criticising the government over its handling of Mumbai terror attacks, Singh said that Congress was encouraging communal forces to an extent that they had started endangering the internal and external security of the country. Singh, however, refused to comment on the recent controversy over former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat's plans to contest the Lok Sabha polls.
