OWING TO dispute over seat sharing with private colleges, the department of medical education has decided to conduct the second counselling for UPPGMEE seats just for one day.
The decision to reduce counselling days was taken after excluding the seats to be shared by private colleges.
Earlier, it was decided that the second counselling session would be done for two days on June 10 and 12. On the second counselling day, the students who had already selected colleges but wanted a change in the institute, were also to be entertained.
But today the department of medical education took a decision to withdraw this facility.
The second counselling would now be done in the Meerut University that conducted the UPPGMEE-2005.
In this counseling, MDS seats would not be entertained as the private colleges have refused to share their seats with the government for allocation to the students. Only a few MDS seats with the dental university would be included in this counselling.
Thus counselling and admission to the junior residents (I) for their internship at various state colleges would be finalised by June 15.
