US detects 4.2 magnitude tremor in North Korea

North Korea says it has conducted a nuclear test at an underground facility within the past several hours.

The US Geological Survey said on Monday it had detected a 4.2 magnitude tremor in North Korea at 7.05 am (IST), 385 km northeast of the capital, Pyongyang.

The USGS Web site gave the exact location of the tremor as 41.311 degrees North latitude and 129.114 degrees East longitude at a depth of 0 km.
