Sourav Ganguly will turn out for Bengal in the tie, which has assumed importance in the light of his selection to the Indian team on Thursday for the three-Test series against South Africa.
The left-hander made 43 and also picked a five-wicket match haul in Bengal's first Ranji game of the season against Punjab in Mohali in previous week.
Vengsarkar, who has been asked by BCCI President Sharad Pawar to join the team in South Africa, is likely to leave on December 10, 2006 five days ahead of the start of the first Test in Johannesburg.
