The CBI letter to FIA, Pakistan's nodal agency, comes in the wake of media reports in the neighbouring country about Dawood sustaining injuries in a shootout in Karachi.

Dawood, who was designated as a global terrorist by the US recently, is wanted in India in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.

He is also wanted by the US for his alleged links with international terror group Al-Qaeda and is facing an interpol red corner notice for his involvement in various organised crimes in India.
