Vijayashanti first visited the Telengana Martyrs' park and paid homage to those who have lost lives in the agitation for separate Telengana state in late 1960s.
She then began her fast at Indira Park along with a large number of supporters.
Some pro-Telengana organisations and leaders, including Kesav Rao Jhadav, expressed solidarity with Vijayashanti while revolutionary balladeer Gaddar wrote a letter of support, a party spokesman said.
The demands of the film star, who had quit BJP as the national president of Mahila Morcha, included adequate compensation to the kin of farmers who have committed suicide and rescheduling of loans.
