Earlier in the day, former MP Vishvendra Singh had extended a hearty welcome to pradesh Congress chief Dr Chandrabhan.
At the workshop, Singh alleged party workers were being neglected by the state leadership. He also said some local leaders were working against him. Singh was still addressing the gathering when around 20 people entered the hall roughed up the leaders on the dais.
After the incident, Chandrabhan held Singh responsible for the violence. Angered by the accusation, Singh called Chandrabhan a “murderer”.
