They now call him the other Sachin. His diminutive batsman has modelled his game on Sachin Tendulkar and it can be said with a certain sense of surety that the disciple in at least some one-day shots.

Sehwag first hit the headlines early last year when he scored his debut century, against New Zealand, in Sri Lanka opening the batting in the absence of Tendulkar.

He scored his a ton off 69 balls. It was the second fastest by an Indian and seventh fastest in one-day history.

In Tests, he first came into spotlight with century on debut at Bloemfantein. He became the 11th Indian to score a century on debut.

He then hogged the limelight for infamous reasons. This aggressive batsman became the center of the Mike Denness controversy when he was served with a one one-match ban for excessive appealing by ICC match referee Mike Denness at the end of the Port Elizabeth Test.

There is no better sight in one-day cricket today than Tendulkar and Sehwag together at the crease, blazing away as if the gods had willed for two Tendulkars.
