After several weeks of veiled remark-making, veteran Congress leader and Rajya Sabha's Deputy Chairperson Najma Heptullah has finally come out openly in support of the National Democratic Alliance.

"I am a sensible Indian citizen and I feel that support for NDA and BJP-led government would lead to stability in the country," Heptullah told a private television channel in New Delhi on Friday.
Pointing out that stability was the need of the hour, she said that after the exit poll in the first phase showing NDA ahead of Congress, the Sensex went up.
However, when "we saw the second exit poll, which was quite shaky, five Prime Ministers were projected and the Sensex went down. So what is the need of the hour? It is stability," she said.
