Speaking to reporters in Kottayam before commencing his 'Kerala raksha march' in the district, Chennithala said the Chief Minister was ready 'to wear any dress and go anywhere to protect his chair. Achuthanandan was not fit to occupy the chief minster post as he deceived the people.'

He said the Lavalin case was not an issue between Congress-led United Democratic front and Left Democratic Front but a public issue.

Achuthanandan had taken part in the rally, marking the finale of his bete noire, CPIM Kerala secretary Pinarayi Vijayan's 'Nava Kerala March'.
