We are a thankless nation

I got very emotional reading this story. We Indians are the epitome of hypocrisy. We shout for people like Afzal but what do we for these war widows? The gave their prime for our tomorrow and the least we can do is to treat them with respect and look after their well being. Their souls must be cursing us. These valiant ladies will think many times before sending their children to the army. I wish we were not such a thankless nation.
