A division bench comprising Chief Justice F I Rebello and Justice Vikram Nath asked the state's Principal Secretary (Home) and Director General of Police to inform the court about the measures taken in view of the Supreme Court's directives to state authorities with regard to honour killings.

The order came on a Public Interest Litigation filed by Agrima Dubey and others who had moved the court with the allegation that notwithstanding the apex court's directives, honour killings continued unabated in UP.

The court fixed August 10 as the next date of hearing in the matter.
