Are elected members equipped to solve Kashmir problem? The current political activities in J & K clearly reveal the motives of the political parties. No party is thinking beyond the CMs post. Nobody is interested in any economic or social programmes. Mr. Sayeed as well as Mr. Azad, like the previous rulers, are interested in nothing but the CMs post, says Buti Lal. Yes, the people have elected their representatives to take crucial decisions, says Shahiba Banoo, Srinagar.

Muzaffar Hussain Beig, PDP vice-president: There is every hope that political parties will realise their responsibility and, respecting the verdict of the people, forge a political formation during the next couple of days and form a government.   Saifuddin Soz, senior Congress leader: The imposition of Governor's rule in the state is temporary and the extension till Oct 21 given to political parties to try and form a government still holds and now the onus to end the impasse lies with the PDP.
