Wipro projects marginal growth in Q2

Software major Wipro Ltd on Tuesday projected an average revenue of $1.5 billion for the second quarter of this fiscal year.

It is sequentially marginal to $1.4 billion it achieved in the first quarter of this fiscal.

In a regulatory filing Wednesday, the IT bellwether company said revenue from its global IT services would be in the range of $1,436 million to 1,464 million for the second quarter (Q2) under the International Financial Reporting Standards.
Though the IT services business growth in the first quarter was 17% year-on-year in dollar terms, it was 0.5% sequentially from the fourth quarter (January-March) of the last fiscal (2010-11).
