Wockhardt Hospitals expanding business in India

Wockhardt Hospitals is expanding its super-speciality hospital business in the country. The healthcare major is setting up a large multi-speciality hospital in Nagpur.
The new hospital, which would be the second hospital after the Wockhardt heart hospital in the city, would be set up near the centre of the city.
"We are setting a second super specialty hospital at Nagpur but it is not situated in the SEZ but in the heart of the city," said Vishal Bali, President, Wockhardt Hospitals confirming the development.
Wockhardt has already proposed two hospitals in Mumbai other than its existing setup in the city. The company would invest close to Rs 50 crore in the new hospital. The company has plans to put up 29 more such hospitals across the country in the coming months.
The super-speciality hospital business in the country is split between four major players Apollo Hospitals, Escorts, Wockhardt and Max. Wockhardt has recently set up a 400-bed hospital in Bangalore, which would cater to Cardiology & Cardiothoracic Surgery, Orthopedics, Trauma care and Joint replacements, Neurology and & Neurosurgery, Women & Child Services—Gynecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics.
Wockhardt Hospitals are present in Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Nagpur.
