The protestors alleged the police are delaying action against the accused.
According to sources, 20-year-old Veena (name changed) went missing on July 8 from Sector 8. She was traced in Rohtak on October 6.
In her complaint, Veena held six persons, including some relatives and a policeman, responsible for kidnapping her.
Based on Veena’s statement and the nature of allegation, the police registered a case under different sections against the accused –– Joginder, Girajee, Devinder, Pawan Sharma, Sub-inspector Umesh Bala and his son Monti. The police have arrested Pawan Sharma. Veena’s relatives are demanding the arrest of the others as well.
“We are investigating the role of the remaining accused who have been named in the FIR,” a senior police officer said.
