The woman, who had been working with a telecom firm in Delhi's Mayur Vihar area, was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband on Monday, the police said citing a complaint lodged by the victim's father.
The couple has a five-year-old son and the family had been living in a rented accommodation.
According to preliminary investigation, the victim Monica was killed by her husband Hari Prakash, an army jawan who was posted in Firozpur in Punjab, a senior police officer said.
The couple's son Parshva was the only witness to the crime, the officer said, adding that a case has been registered against Hari Prakash who has been absconding.
The officer said that the army headquarters will also be informed about the incident.
"We have registered a case against Hari Prakash. The postmortem will be done on Wednesday," said the officer.
The victim's father Ram Niwas also accused his son-in-law of torturing her daughter, saying Hari Prakash wanted his wife to leave the job and stay with his family in Rajasthan.
