Geeta Rani was also accused of killing her husband Manchand, a businessman, and her father for the same reasons.
Additional Sessions Judge Rajinder Kumar also fined Gita Rani and Satish Rs 15,000 and Rs 25,000 each after holding them guilty under section 302 (murder), 364 (abduction), 201 (tampering with evidence) and 120-B (conspiracy) of the IPC.
Aarti, a Dilshad colony resident, had lodged five criminal cases against her mother before her death in May 2001.
She was also a prime witness against her mother in her father’s murder case. The court rejected the prosecution’s plea for death penalty to the two convicts.
