AND DOCTORS DECLARED Shrikant Mishra dead. It was in Wednesday noon when his second wife Anita jumped into the Gomti alleging casual attitude of the staff at the SPM (Civil) Hospital.
Mishra, suffered from acute jaundice. His kidneys stopped functioning for last few days. He was admitted to hospital on June 18 and had reported to be in coma for last one week. His condition started deteriorating since late in the noon after he suffered breathlessness. The doctors had to administer artificial oxygen to keep him from sinking.
Mishra’s first wife Sushma and his children Eish (20), Jaya (18) and Gaurav (12) along with his brother Babbu and other relatives lost their patience and held the medical staff responsible for the death.
Talking to the HT Lucknow Live, Babbu alleged that it was around 2 pm on Wednesday that a nurse brought the oxygen cylinder late while the doctor had advised for the same two hours back. However, the nurse did not operate the oxygen cylinder and went away saying that another nurse would do it.
He further alleged that it took another half-an-hour to provide the artificial oxygen to Mishra. Babbu also alleged that the doctors always used to ignore complaint about Mishra’s deteriorating condition.
He alleged that they were being asked for money to continue the treatment while all costly injections were purchased by the family members only.
