Superintendent of police (SP) Vinit Khanna said the victim's brother-in-law, Suresh Sharma, shot her. Police said Sharma escaped after committing the crime. It is not yet clear what led to the killing. Sunita's husband Ramesh Sharma had died earlier.
She lived with her brother-in-law's family since then. The police are interrogating the victim's kin to find out if there was any dispute that led to the murder. A case has been registered against Suresh and hunt has been launched to nab him.
