NEWCOMERS IN the legal profession should never get disheartened as hard work and persistent efforts did not go waste, said newly appointed Advocate-General of Uttar Pradesh SMA Kazmi here on Wednesday.
Kazmi was addressing a programme organised by the Allahabad High Court Bar Association (HCBA) at its Library Hall on the HC premises to felicitate him on his being appointed as Advocate-General of UP.
Overwhelmed with the honour given to him by HC Bar Association, Kazmi said that it was the co-operation of the Bar which helped him reach this post. He urged the struggling lawyers to inculcate qualities like maintaining decorum and good manners.Kazmi assured the Bar leaders that he would do his best to solve the problems being faced by the members of the Bar as according to him, he had been appointed by a chief minister who always respected the dignity of lawyers.
Earlier, presiding over the programme, president of HCBA CL Pandey described the problems being faced by the members of the Bar and urged Kazmi to help in solving them. Conducting the programme, secretary of HCBA Rakesh Pandey urged the new comers to follow in the footsteps of Kazmi. Joint secretary Manoj Mishra introduced Kazmi to the audience.
Former secretary of HCBA SP Singh, terming Kazmi as a thinker, said that his appointment to a constitutional post like Advocate General was an honour for the city. Additional Advocate General Adish C Agrawal and former secretary IK Chaturvedi also hailed the appointment of Kazmi as AG. Later, state law officers also organised a programme at the state law office in front of the High Court to felicitate Kazmi.
Addressing this function, Government Advocate Vijay Shankar Mishra, while welcoming the appointment of Kazmi, said that it was a Holi gift for people of Allahabad. He said that Kazmi being aware of all the problems of the state law office, would be able to solve them in the best possible way.In this meeting, Kazmi urged the state law officers to be available in courts. Thereafter, they should make themselves acceptable and indispensable, he said.
Others who addressed this programme included Additional Advocate Generals Vidhu Bhushan Singh, Adish C Agrawal, Additional Chief Standing Counsel Quamrul Hasan Siddiqui, Amaredra Nath Singh and several others.
