The examinations which were originally to be held in March had started from May 17 in several schools, mostly in the Nicobar Islands.
Though the tests would run till June 4, "we will surely declare the results before June 30," Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Chairman Ashok Ganguly said on Monday.
He said 13 schools had been badly damaged when the giant waves had struck on December 26 last year and nine of them on Nicobar Islands had been almost completely washed away.
After the tsunami disaster, CBSE had rescheduled the examinations in the badly-hit centres in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, though they were held as scheduled in other centres and the results declared on Monday.
