Hours after taking over as the new Pakistan Cricket Board chief, Naseem Ashraf on Saturday reappointed Younis Khan as captain of the national team for the ICC Champions Trophy in India.

Younis, who earlier stepped down from captaincy on the ground that he did not want to function as a "dummy captain," replaced Mohammed Yousuf.

Besides reappointing Younis as captain, the PCB on Saturday sacked assistant coach Mushtaq Ahmed, according to a report aired by Geo TV.

Ashraf is expected to announce the decisions at a press conference in Lahore on Saturday.
