AN AGED man was killed while another couple was injured by their own sons in separate incidents in the district on Monday night.

An inebriated son allegedly killed his father outside his house in Kochi village under Chaubeypur police station late on Monday night. The man’s blood-stained body was spotted by other family members and neighbours in the wee hours on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Phool Chandra Yadav. The assailant is absconding.
The cause of the murder is stated to be the fall-out of a property dispute between father and son. The body has been seized by the cops for post mortem.
According to information, 65-year-old Phool Chandra Yadav, a farmer, owned some fertile land in Kochi village. He had three sons Ravi Shanker, Dilip and Sandip Yadav. Sandip had been mounting pressure on his father to sell a piece of land and give him his share. The father ignored the demand following Sandeep’s alcoholism and bad company. It is said that the father had sold a piece of land two years ago and paid Rs 30,000 to Sandip for some business but the son spent the money on liquor.
Sandip was frustrated over the refusal of his father to give him his share. He also used to beat his wife, who ultimately went to her parents’ house.
During the wee hours on Monday, Sandip allegedly attacked his father with a sharp-edged weapon and killed him while he was asleep. After the murder, the assailant fled the scene with the weapon used in the murder.
In another incident, a 71-year-old man along with his wife was injured when their own son attacked them with a knife in Meerbagh colony under Luxa police station on Monday night.
The couple received injuries. Their son Sudhir is absconding.
Sudhir had been living separately with his second wife and his parents were living with his brother in the ancestral house. Sudhir wanted his share of the house.
When the couple, under pressure of their elder son, refused, the younger son exchanged heated words with his parents and attacked them. The couple went to the district hospital for treatment and lodged a complaint against their younger son with the police.
Meanwhile, police today arrested a man on the charge of killing her own mother at Narharpura under the Kotwali police station on March 30 for property reasons. The deceased was identified as Vijaya Devi while the assailant as Ashok Kumar.
During investigation police found that the woman had two sons but was more close to the younger one and wanted to dispose off her house and a shop on his request. The elder son asked her mother not to do so.
The needle of suspicion twisted on the elder son and police nabbed him at 5 pm today. During investigation, he admitted that he had strangled to his mother with the help of a pillow.
