Reddy said the people had en masse endorsed her decency, honesty and high moral standards in politics.

"While two years back, Sonia Gandhi had made a supreme sacrifice by not taking up the Prime Minister's post, this time she resigned from Lok Sabha (in the wake of office of profit controversy) to set high standards in politics. The people expressed full faith in her leadership," he said.

The Chief Minister also said that the results of the Assembly elections in the states of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and West Bengal showed endorsement of the polities of UPA and its allies.

While the Congress made a mark in Assam and Pondicherry, its ally DMK swept back to power in Tamil Nadu, he said adding this is a big win for secularism and the UPA ideology.

The results of the elections in the five states gives a moral boost to the UPA government to work with more dedication for the cause of farmers, rural people and particularly the downtrodden, Reddy added.
