Deepak Reddy Mohan, 21, an electrical engineering student from Indian Institute of Technology-Indore (IIT-Indore) scored an all India rank 2 in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

Deepak who hails from Mysore and pursuing graduation from IIT Indore scored a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 9.39 in graduation and thus fulfills the criterion of IITs which allows the students to pursue M.E if they have a score of 8.5 and above.
An elated Deepak said, "I wasn't expecting my rank to be under 10, but was sure enough to have a rank under 50. I am surprised by my own performance and happy to achieve this rank."
Deepak wished to enter a research field said, "I wanted to pursue my masters from the Indian Institute of Science-Bangalore (IISc) and that was the reason I appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination."
"Having scored this rank I will now pursue M.E in Systems Science and Automation," added Deepak. Deepak’s parents, former bank employees Rammamohan KL and Swoumya R Mohan, who is an employee at Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), said they were confident of their son's success and he had made them proud.
