According to the metro officials, the trial on metro tracks was done on maximum speed of 90kmph.

“The trials were done at speed of 90kmph today. After these trials, only one more statutory clearance will be required before the commercial operations,” Atul Gadgil, chief project manager of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said. DMRC is the agency entrusted for building the Jaipur Metro project.

The Metro train will be fully operational in Jaipur only after a certificate from commissioner of metro railway safety. A Mumbai based expert PS Baghel has been appointed as commissioner of Metro rail safety, who will report to commissioner of Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation and DMRC on safety and trials of metro train.

Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation has ordered for ten Metro trains to be supplied by Bangalore based Bharat Earth Movers Limited. The Jaipur Metro train in its first phase (Mansarovar to Chandpole) will have four coaches on its 9.25-km route.

The coach capacity in which driver cabin is inbuilt will be around 247 and around 270 passengers can travel in coaches without the driver’s cabin. One Metro coach will accommodate passengers travelling in five buses. Overall the four coaches can carry a maximum 1,032 passengers at a time. Cost for each coach will be around `8 crore.
