Gehlot said every citizen should do the same to give the state a prefect green cover. The scheme would help to increase ground water level in the state which is rapidly decreasing, he said.
Cabinet ministers, principal secretaries, officials of forest and environment department and others also took part in the plantation programme.
Around 300 saplings were planted on the occasion, according to an official of the forest department.
Over 30 lakh saplings would be planted in school, college, hospital premises, public parks, along roadsides and highways under the scheme, an official said.
