“A cath lab will also be started here (at the hospital) in the coming six months,” said Saraf, who was speaking after inaugurating a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine at the hospital.

The swine flu laboratory will be worth Rs 2 crore.

The minister said that around 3 lakh people living in nearby areas of the hospital will benefit from the MRI machine.

In the first phase services of CT scan, 2D echo, comprehensive trail-making test (CTMT) for assessing and diagnosis of brain injury and holter monitoring were started, in the second phase, the MRI machine has been set up and in the third phase, the cath lab will be started, he said.
