On asking why Devli has been identified, he said Devli is on the border of Tonk district and is adjoined with Bundi, Ajmer, Bhilwara and Tonk-Sawai Madhopur districts. Besides, the party had lost all the eight assembly seats in Tonk and Sawai Madhopur district and workers are demoralized, Gandhi’s visit will boost the morale, he added.

Sources also claimed that party plans to present a new face from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur parliamentary constituency which could also be reason for holding Gandhi’s rally from Devli.

“It is possible that chief minister Ashok Gehlot son Vaibhav Gehlot might contest from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, instead of Jalore-Sirohi parliamentary constituency,” added sources.

Meanwhile, state party president Sachin Pilot on Tuesday held a meeting with senior leaders and office bearers at party office and delegated tasks to make Gandhi’s rally successful. An office bearer present in the meet said apart from work allocation, the district leaders were given targets to bring maximum people from their areas.

Pilot on Wednesday will be visiting Tonk and Sawai Madhopur districts and hold meeting with district congress committee office bearers and local leaders for necessary arrangements to make rally successful.
