Raje misusing govt machinery to rig polls: Jaswant to EC

Independent candidate Jaswant Singh has submitted a complaint to the Election Commission of India accusing chief minister Vasundhara Raje of misusing the government machinery to rig polling in Barmer parliamentary constituency.

Independent candidate Jaswant Singh has submitted a complaint to the Election Commission of India accusing chief minister Vasundhara Raje of misusing the government machinery to rig polling in Barmer parliamentary constituency.

In his complaint, Singh alleged that district collector cum election officer has restructured the polling parties just before the polling day. "These parties, which are actually responsible for the free and fair elections, have been shockingly restructured on caste basis," he said.

"There are preparations going on for high-level bogus voting by misusing the government machinery," he added.

Besides, Singh alleged, the police personnel are threatening his supporters. He also alleged that supporters of BJP candidate Col Sona Ram Choudhary are trying to influence voters by distributing liquor and money to the villagers.
