A general alert was issued across West Bengal with the police directed to mount vigil in the wake of serial blasts in New Delhi.

A general alert was issued across West Bengal with the police directed to mount vigil in the wake of serial blasts in New Delhi on Saturday.

"We have alerted district and railway police as also all concerned after the blasts in Delhi," IGP (Law and Order) Raj Kanojia told PTI in Kolkata.

Officials said that police have been asked to be vigilant in railway stations, airports, bus terminuses, markets and all public places.
