Behala doc commits suicide, nurse girlfriend goes missing
On Saturday he had an argument with his girlfriend. His colleagues & roommates were present,deceased's friend
A 26 year-old doctor committed suicide in the Behala area on Saturday night. His girlfriend, a nurse at the Thakurpukur cancer hospital, has gone missing.

According to sources at Behala police station, the cops are questioning friends of the doctor Samir Patra. Talking to
HT, a friend said, “Samir used to stay in a flat at Sukantapalli in Behala. On Saturday evening he had a heated argument with his girlfriend in the flat. His colleagues and roommate were also present.”
“Samir hanged himself after his girlfriend and friends left the flat. His roommates broke the door and found Samir hanging from the ceiling. He was taken to the MR Bangur hospital where doctors declared him dead,” a friend said. A suicide case has been registered at the Behala police station.
Officer-in-charge of Behala police station told HT on Monday, “A suicide case has been registered and we have started a probe. His counterpart at Haridevpur police station said, “Following a complaint of the parents of the girl, a missing diary has been registered.”
One of his friends said Samir was a house-staff at MR Bangur Hospital. Recently he had joined a private hospital along the EM Bypass. Simultaneously he was also preparing for the entrance examination for the three-year post-graduate medical course.
A senior officer of Behala police station said the incident in a flat on Raja Rammohan Ray Road. “We are exploring whether the suicide was due to a fallout with his girlfriend. We will also interrogate his roommates who are doctors. We have questioned his roommate and others today,” the officer said.
