CPM couldn't take up VS issue

Absence of Kerala state secretary Pinayari Vijayan stopped the CPI(M) central committee from discussing the issue of reinstating former Kerala chief minister V S Achuthanandan in the Politburo, who was expelled on disciplinary grounds in 2009.

Absence of Kerala state secretary Pinayari Vijayan stopped the CPI(M) central committee from discussing the issue of reinstating former Kerala chief minister V S Achuthanandan in the Politburo, who was expelled on disciplinary grounds in 2009. The issue has been shelved for 3 months.

Vijayan, the arch rival of Achuthanandan, skipped the central committee meeting in Kolkata on medical ground. Partymen said he was undergoing treatment but many felt that he skipped the meeting to put Achuthanandan in a spot because the latter ignored a party diktat and visited a controversial party leader.
