Continuing its tirade against Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, the CPI(M) on Sunday alleged that she intends to stir up trouble at her public rally in Maoist-hit West Midnapore on October six.
"She is going there as a messenger of unrest when the situation is changing in junglemahal. Her visit is aimed at creating anarchy," CPI(M) state secretary Biman Bose told reporters.
On Banerjee's statement that West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee "does not have the courage to step into (Maoist dominated) Lalgarh," Bose said "Lalgarh is a small place. Bhattacherjee held a meeting in a bigger place (at Midnapore yesterday) where there was a large turnout. Banerjee held a rally at Lalgarh with outsiders, including 1000 RPF personnel, on August nine."
The party would hold a meeting in Lalgarh too, he vowed.
Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress secretary-general Partha Chatterjee claimed that locals today caught two armed CPI(M) cadre at Jamboni in West Midnapore district who were terrorising people.
