As Halloween fast approaches we take a look at some fun makeup ideas for the ghoulish holiday.
Promise Phan - Face in a Face
This trippy look will be certain to provide plenty of double-takes come Halloween. Promise starts by using a dark color to draw a fake nose and eye shape on the right-hand side of her face. She then uses white face paint to color in the eye before applying matching eyeshadow colors to her real and fake eyes and sticking on false upper eyelashes. Promise then employs thin lines of liquid eyeliner to draw on fake lower lashes. She finishes the look by drawing in cheeks, jawline and lips and then pulling her hair across to cover the rest of her face.
MakeupbyMindy - Creepy Doll
Mandy starts with a clean face and uses a concealer and foundation for a flawless, doll-like finish. She then applies white eyeliner under her lash line, and then draws in a fake lower lash line with liquid eyeline. Mandy then sticks on fake eyelashes, adds some white and pink eyeshadow, then curls and applies mascaras to her lashes. More liquid eyeliner is employed to make dots on her cheeks for faux-freckles, as well as fake stitches on her cheeks. She finishes the look with a pair of exaggeratedly small, doll-like pink lips.
Julia Graf - Zombie
You don't need brains for this one, but you do need monster or bruise facepaint and fake blood (you can also make your own using corn syrup and food coloring). Julia starts with a grey-green and cream facepaint base for a sickly palor, and adds blue green tones around her eyes to look a bit more "gross and dead". A bit of contouring provides hollow, sunken cheeks, and red tones provide a bruised, bloody look around the mouth. Julia then uses a sponge to add stippled yellow color on the cheeks. Dark blue and purple eyeshadow, red gel-liner around the eye (to give a bloodshot look) and lashings of fake blood around the mouth finish off the zombie effect.
