Lok Sabha 2019 constituency: Historic Chandni Chowk seat has seen fight between BJP, Congress

One of the oldest and earliest constituencies in the country, Chandni Chowk will vote on May 12, the sixth of the seven phased-Lok Sabha election 2019. Votes will be counted on May 23.

The parliamentary constituency of Chandni Chowk was won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the last Lok Sabha election in 2014 along with the six other seats in Delhi.

BJP leader Harsh Vardhan defeated the Aam Aadmi Party’s Ashutosh in the congested and historic locality in the last general election. Congress’ Kapil Sibal, who placed third in 2014, had won the seat for the first time in 2004 and then in 2009.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP has fielded Pankaj Gupta from Chandni Chowk this year.
