“The case reported from KGMU campus is now recovering,” said Yogesh Raghuvanshi, district health education officer.

Cases were reported from Khadra, Aishbagh, Sadatganj, Daliganj, Balaganj, Ismailganj, Nirala Nagar, SP hostel, Om Nagar, Rajendra Nagar, Keshav Nagar, Bangla Bazaar and Ratan Khand.

Health teams visited 8 schools and conducted awareness sessions on dengue control.

Lucknow has reported three dengue deaths till now. “Despite fall in temperature, the cases are still coming up. This situation indicates preventive measures should be ensured by one and all to avoid illness from mosquito bite,” said Dr Raman Kumar, president of the Academy of Family Physicians of India.

“If one falls ill, going to a doctor for proper treatment is the best option, instead of self-medication,” said Dr PK Gupta, former president IMA, Lucknow. Doctors said items such as flower pots and cooler tanks should be checked thoroughly for stagnant water.

“In the areas where cases were reported, health teams conducted source reduction exercise to control mosquito breeding,” said Raghuvanshi.

Under the ‘fight the bite’ campaign, health teams inspected 1705 houses and found conditions conducive for mosquito breeding at 35 of them. The owners were served notices. HTC
