Now enjoy air journey from Allahabad to Lucknow for just Rs 967 courtesy Jet Airways that has decided to start starting flights between the two cities under the regional connectivity scheme from June 14.

The private airline has also released the time-table and the fare list of the destinations to be covered from Allahabad under the UDAN scheme.

The government had in March 2017 awarded 128 regional routes to five airlines for launching flights under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) scheme, which aims at boosting air connectivity to the hinterland.

As per the announcement, the initial fare on Lucknow-Allahabad-Lucknow route will be Rs 967 while on Allahabad-Patna-Allahabad route, one will have to shell out Rs 1216 to enjoy air journey. Similarly, fare for Nagpur-Allahabad-Nagpur will be Rs 1,690 and for Indore-Allahabad-Indore Rs 1,914 per passenger.

Flight number 9W 3555 will take off from Lucknow at 6.30am and reach Allahabad at 8.05am. Similarly, flight number 9W3556 will depart from Allahabad at 12.50 and reach Lucknow at 2.25pm. For Patna, flight number 9W 3558 will take off from Allahabad at 8.35am and reach Patna at 10.15am. In return journey, flight number 9W 3557 will take off from Patna at 10.40am and reach Allahabad at 12.20pm.

The air service on Lucknow-Allahabad-Patna route will be available three times a week. And so will be the case on Nagpur-Allahabad-Indore route, operation on which will begin from June 16. Flight number 9W 3553 will take off from Nagpur at 9.45am and land in Allahabad at 11.50am. Flight number 9W 3552 will take off from Allahabad at 12.20pm and land in Indore at 2.30pm.

In return journey, flight number 9W 3551 will take off from Indore at 3pm and land in Allahabad at 5.10pm. Similarly, flight number 9W 3554 will take off from Allahabad at 5.40pm and reach Nagpur at 7.45pm.

“Besides operating on these routes, the Jet Airways has also planned to begin operations on some new routes including Lucknow-Bareily-Delhi-Bareliy-Lucknow. It will begin soon,” said UP cabinet minister for stamp and civil aviation Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’.

He said in the second bidding done in January, nine airports and 22 air routes of Uttar Pradesh were selected for connectivity and service. As per him, as the Centre was now focusing on Allahabad, air service to many more cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Gorakhpur, Dehradun, Kolkata and Pune would also begin from the Sangam city.

He said the Jet Airways is offering seats in the UDAN flights on subsidised rates to encourage air passengers to avail the service as much as possible.
