Aligarh: 3 children killed as 27 fall into well
Three children were killed and approximately 24 people were hurt – eight of them with life threatening injuries - when they fell into a well in Pundeel village under Iglas tehsil of Aligarh district on Tuesday evening.

Three children were killed and approximately 24 people were hurt – eight of them with life threatening injuries - when they fell into a well in Pundeel village under Iglas tehsil of Aligarh district on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred when the villagers had gathered for a well-worship ceremony during a wedding. The group was standing on the cement covering of the well that apparently gave away under their weight.
This incident put into question the emergency response system in the area with villagers complaining that they were not able to get an ambulance to help the injured. Angry locals jammed the Aligarh-Agra road in protest.
