Doc’s daughter raped, dumped on Allahabad outskirts

A 20-year-old girl, daughter of a city-based doctor, was allegedly raped and dumped by four persons in Jhusi on the outskirts of Allahabad. The girl was wearing a ‘burqa’ and was found bleeding on the roadside on Tuesday night. The police rushed her to Dufferin hospital where rape was confirmed. Police informed her parents about the incident.

A 20-year-old girl, daughter of a city-based doctor, was allegedly raped and dumped by four persons in Jhusi on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday night. She lived in Pratapgarh with her mother.

The girl was wearing a ‘burqa’ and was found bleeding on the roadside on Tuesday night. The police rushed her to Dufferin hospital where rape was confirmed. Police informed her parents about the incident.

The girl left her house in Sadar, Pratapgarh, in the afternoon and did not return. After regaining consciousness, the girl told the police that she was held captive by four persons at a secluded place and raped repeatedly. Thereafter, she was put in a car and brought to Allahabad.

The girl was not in proper senses till reports last came in.

Sources claimed that the girl’s father practices in Atala locality in the city and she is the daughter of his second wife.

On Wednesday, she was examined by a panel of doctors who confirmed rape.

IG Brij Bhushan Sharma, SSP Deepak Kumar, SP (City) Rajesh Yadav and CO Alka Bhatnagar recorded her statement.

The circle officer said that the girl initially said that she was kidnapped by SUV-borne miscreants while she was heading for her college. She said that the kidnappers took her to a secluded place and raped her.

Later, she changed her statement claiming that she was on her way to meet her father in Allahabad after quarrelling with her mother. She was forcibly disembarked from the bus by a person and some of his friends and taken to a secluded place where she was raped.

Later, she reportedly told the police that her boyfriend and some of his friends raped her.

SSP Deepak Kumar said the girl was changing her statement and nothing could be concluded at this stage. “We are waiting for her to get normal and then record her statement again. An FIR of rape has been lodged on the complaint of the girl’s mother,” she said.
