Kanpur: Boy, girl found hanging from trees

A male student and an unidentified girl were found hanging from trees about 20 km apart, in Derapur and Rajendra Nagar, Sikandra respectively, here on Wednesday. Police suspect that the boy and girl could be lovers. The identity of the girl, however, hasn’t been established so far.

A male student and an unidentified girl were found hanging from trees about 20 km apart, in Derapur and Rajendra Nagar, Sikandra respectively, here on Wednesday. Police suspect that the boy and girl could be lovers. The identity of the girl, however, hasn’t been established so far. The boy has been identified as Brijendra Yadav, 20, of Beria village, Derapur.

Brijendra was found hanging from a tree just outside his village on Wednesday morning. Derapur took the body for post mortem. Police also found that his mobile phone which was switched off.

The aggrieved family told police that Brijendra, a B Sc final year student, had appeared in police recruitment exam, but didn’t qualify for it because he couldn’t complete his run within the required time. He had left house on Wednesday saying he would return after exercises.

Even as police were busy completing formalities concerning boy’s death, they got the news about teenaged girl’s body found hanging in Rajendra Nagar, Sikandra. Police, however, couldn’t find anything that would help in establishing the girl’s identity.

Yadav said circumstances suggested that the boy and girl, both, committed suicide.
