Mulayam refuses to comment on CD row

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today said there was nothing for him to comment on the CD controversy, as there were others to speak on the issue.

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday said there was nothing for him to comment on the CD controversy, as there were others to speak on the issue.

"I have nothing to comment on the issue. There are a number of people to speak on the matter," he told reporters in Lucknow. "I have no objection if anyone takes my name," Mulayam said. "When there is a need I will take names, and if there is no need I will not," he added.

The controversial CD carries audio clippings of a purported telephonic conversation between Shanti Bhushan, co-chairman of the Lokpal Bill joint drafting committee, expelled SP leader Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh, about influencing a judge.
