Supplementary demands of Rs 11,388.17 crore include Rs 39.48 lakh for Yogi oil painting

A life-size oil painting of chief minister Yogi Adityanath will soon adorn the state assembly’s picture gallery that has oil paintings of all previous chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh.
A sum of Rs 39.48 lakh has been sought for the Yogi painting. The amount is part of the first supplementary demands of grant of Rs 11,388.17 crore for 2017-2018 that state government presented in the assembly on Monday.
Minister for finance Rajesh Agarwal presented supplementary demands.
An additional sum of Rs 7.23 lakh has been sought for an oil painting of Speaker Hridaya Naran Dixit that will be put up in the Central Hall (Rajrishi Purusottam Das Tandon Hall) of the assembly.
As chief minister, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had inaugurated the picture gallery of chief ministers on August 29, 2016.
Besides Akhilesh’s painting, the gallery has paintings of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati, Rajnath Singh, Kalyan Singh and Narain Dutt Tiwari etc.
A sum of Rs 3.44 crore was also been demanded for installing a digital CCTV surveillance system in the main Vidhan Bhawan building in place of the existing CCTV system. Also, a sum of Rs 4.9 crore has been sought for making permanent arrangements for live telecast of of state assembly’s proceedings by Doordarshan.
